Unfortunately, as we age, the skin on our face and neck loosen up and start to sag. This can worsen the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and make you appear older or worn out. ThermiSmooth is a safe, non-invasive approach to skin-tightening. It uses a specialized headpiece that delivers targeted radiofrequency (RF) energy to the treatment area, heating the skin’s surface. This both tightens the existing collagen and stimulates more to grow, leaving your skin looking firm and rejuvenated.
ThermiSmooth is a very versatile procedure that can be used all over the face. It is especially well suited for treating the forehead, under the eyes, around the mouth, the cheeks and neck.
First, a gel is applied to the area to be treated. Our medical professional will then glide the specialized ThermiRF headpiece over the area to be treated, which automatically adjusts the temperature of the headpiece, in a circular motion. This heats the skin up, causing the existing collagen to shrink and tighten up, stimulating the growth of new collagen. Treatments generally take between 30 minutes and an hour, and most patients report little to no discomfort during the procedure, with some even finding the procedure relaxing.
Immediately after treatment, you may appear a little red or swollen, but these symptoms will go away on their own shortly. You will need to apply sunscreen before going outside for several weeks after treatment to prevent sun damage to your skin. Results are often visible right after treatment, with continuous improvements over the next 3 to 6 months as your body continues to produce new collagen.
Although this will vary from person to person, patients generally between 3 to 6 treatments to achieve the best results. In addition, touch-up treatments may be suggested about once a year to maintain your approved appearance.
ThermiSmooth is available to adults who want to improve the overall appearance of their skin and is a safe and effective treatment for all skin types. The depth of the ThermiSmooth will be adjusted for each individual and the body areas to be treated.
